Cobolt Speechmaster T17 Talking Travel Alarm Clock Instructions If the clock is held with the curved surface uppermost a slim button can be felt in the centre of the top edge of the case. This is the speech button. The battery compartment is on the under side of the case, towards the bottom edge. It is opened by sliding towards the bottom edge. The two L1154 alkaline watch batteries are mounted in recesses inside the compartment. To open the case hold the bottom half by the sides and the upper half by the raised ridges on the top edge of the sides. The case will hinge open and allow the lid to be folded back to form a stand. There are 3 buttons on the right face. The top mode button selects between display, time set and alarm set modes. 1 beep indicates time set, 2 beeps alarm set and 3 beeps display. In either of the setting modes the centre button alters the hours and the lower button the minutes. There is a 2 position slide switch for adjusting the volume positioned to the left of the lowest button. In display mode pressing the centre button switches the alarm on and off - 1 beep for "OFF" 4 beeps followed by the alarm time for "ON". If the alarm is sounding it can be stopped by pressing the speech button. In display mode pressing the bottom button switches the hourly report on and off - 1 beep for "OFF" and 4 beeps for "ON".
