Cobolt Speechmaster Talking Pocket Calculator Instructions Press the catch on the right edge of the case to open the lid. The inside of the lid can be used to hold a photograph or notes as required. Below the display and to the right of centre are 3 buttons. The left one causes the time to be spoken, the centre one causes the date to be displayed - not spoken. The right one turns the alarm on and off. Below these are 3 further buttons. The left one slides sideways - to the left turns speech off, to the right turns it on. The centre button switches between speaking numbers one digit at a time or as whole numbers. The right button is used for selecting am or pm when setting the alarm clock. The rest of the buttons are primarily used with the calculator and are arranged in a square 4 across by 5 down. Pressing the time button causes the time to be spoken and allows you to use the top row left button to adjust the date. This uses 2 digits for the day followed by 2 digits for the month then 4 digits for the year. The next button on the top row is used to set the time using 2 digits each for hours, minutes and seconds and the am/pm button as necessary. The next button on the top row is used for setting the alarm time with 2 digits for hours and 2 digits for minutes, again use the am/pm button as necessary. Once the date, time or alarm have been set pressing the last button on the top row enters the new value. To return to the calculator press any digit. When using the calculator the above 4 buttons, from the left, become Memory Plus, Memory Minus, Memory Recall and Memory Clear. The next row are Clear All, Clear Entry, Percent and Repeat. The remaining buttons act as a normal calculator keypad. The battery compartment is on the back of the case and is opened by sliding the roughened surface downwards to slide the cover off. The CR-2025 Lithium battery is removed by easing it to the right and towards you.
