Cobolt Speechmaster Talking Memo Recorder Instructions Your recorder has a sliding cover on the front face. Hold it with this cover opened towards you. You will be able to feel 3 rows of buttons which are hidden when the cover is closed. There are 4 buttons in each row which are used, left to right, as follows:- Top Row - RECORD, STOP, ON, PLAY. Second Row - PREVIOUS MESSAGE, REWIND, FORWARD, NEXT MESSAGE. Third Row - REPEAT, DELETE, VOLUME, PAUSE. To turn the recorder on press the ON button. It will turn off automatically if not used for 30 seconds. RECORDING Press and hold the RECORD button for 2 seconds until it beeps. Hold the unit about 6" from your face and speak. To stop recording press the STOP button - you will again hear a beep. You can pause during recording by pressing the PAUSE button. Pressing it again will re-start the recording. PLAYBACK Press the PLAY button. You will hear a beep and the first message will begin playing. The device will then play all your messages back in sequence. You can use the PAUSE button in the same way as when recording. If you press REPEAT during playback the current message will be repeated. FAST SEARCHING during playback pressing PREVIOUS MESSAGE or NEXT MESSAGE will skip backwards or forwards through your messages. If you press REWIND or FORWARD you will jump backwards or forwards through the current message in 6 second steps. DELETING Whilst a message is being played hold the DELETE button down until you hear 3 beeps. The current message will be deleted. If you do this while a message is not being played then all messages will be deleted. You will hear a single beep to indicate that they are being deleted and 2 further beeps when they have been cleared - this may take several seconds. VOLUME During playback press the VOLUME button to cycle through the levels. BATTERY The battery cover is on the back of the case and slides open in the same direction as the cover. There is a raised section in the centre of the back which will help. The compartment holds 3 AAA batteries. The outer 2 have their positive terminals pointing up, the centre one points down. You will not lose your data while changing the batteries. You can record up to 99 messages with a total recording time of 15 minutes. If you find that you cannot record any more then it will be necessary to delete some of your existing messages.
