FREEZER ALARM INSTRUCTIONS Features: Helps to guard against accidental defrosting of freezer due to loss of power, freezer not working, door left ajar etc. Alarm sounds and LED flashes alert when interior temperature of freezer reaches 15 degrees F. Long probe cable allows placement of alarm at any convenient location. Easy installation and simple operation. Uses a standard AA 1.5V Alkaline battery. Installation: By using the double sided adhesive pad the freezer alarm can be securely mounted onto a surface outside the freezer compartment, such as on the freezer door or side. Once the alarm itself is secure, route the sensor cable over the top of the door hinge and into the freezer compartment. Place the sensor inside the freezer at the rear of the top cabinet / compartment. For stability it is best to tie the sensor to the under side of the freezer rack with a tie wrap. Make sure that the sensor is not in contact with food packages or ice. Wait 15 - 20 minutes to ensure the sensor cools down then move the slide switch to the ON position. The alarm is now set. When the sensor detects an interior temperature above 15 degrees F the alarm will sound and the red LED will flash. Battery replacement: The battery should be replaced at least once a year. To replace the battery, find the compartment on the straight edge on the rear of the alarm and slide it outwards. Observe polarity marking inside compartment. Note: With frost free freezers, the interior of the freezer compartment may temporarily reach temperatures of about 25 degrees F during the defrost cycle. If the alarm sounds under this condition either move the sensor lower in the compartment or place some foam plastic around the sensor to make it less sensitive to the temperature of the defrost cycle.
