Radio Controlled Talking Alarm Clock with spoken Temperature and Humidity FEATURES: Radio controlled time. LCD screen with back light Displayed and spoken time, room temperature and humidity. Alarm and snooze functions. Count down timer - 7 preset time durations for easy use BUTTON LAY OUT: Holding the clock with the display facing you, you will feel a circular raised section on the top of the clock; these are the control buttons. In the centre of the circle is the ‘TALKING’ button. The section around the talk button is divided into 5 buttons. The button at the 3o'clock./ position is the SNZ ON/OFF button. This switches the snooze on and off and decreases the hour/minutes when setting the time or alarm. Please note: This button will not announce anything unless an alarm time is set or when changing the hours and minutes. Moving clockwise round the circle the next button is MODE and the following one is the SET button. The mode and set buttons are used to set the time and alarm as described in the text. The next button is ALM ON/OFF, this switches the alarm on and off and increases the hour/minutes when setting the time or alarm. The final large button at the top of the circle is the COUNT DOWN button. On the back of the clock to the right there are 3 slide buttons. The top button, selects between 'Standard time' on the left and 'Daylight saving time' on the right. The middle slide button is ‘Time Zone’, the left position is -1, middle position is 0 and the right position is +1. This is explained in section 1 of the setting instructions. The bottom slide button switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit, move to the left for deg.C and right for deg.F. SETTING THE CLOCK: To hear the current time press the centre TALKING button. The time will be announced followed by the current temperature and humidity. AUTO SETTING THE TIME ON THE RADIO CONTROLLED CLOCK: When you have inserted the batteries, the clock will automatically search for the radio signal. When searching for the first time this may take a while as the signal only updates at 2:10am, 3:10am and 4:10am everyday. If the update fails the clock will search again at the next time. For best reception place the clock near a window. Please note: as with other wireless devices, some environmental effects may affect the reception. Whilst searching for the signal an aerial symbol will flash on the screen to indicate the clock is searching, this will stop flashing once the clock has adjusted to the correct time. Please note: this clock utilises the European time signal. You will need to switch the DST switch on the back of the clock to DT (full right position) when Daylight Saving Time / British Summer Time starts. When British Summer Time ends you will need to slide the DST switch back to the ST position (full left position). The 3 settings of the ‘TIME ZONE’ slide button indicate the time differences between countries. Please note the clock’s ‘TIME ZONE’ button will be switched to the ‘-1’ setting which is for the following countries; United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal and Iceland. For the following Countries please select ‘0’ on the TIME ZONE switch: Spain, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Frankfurt, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Czech Republic, Croatia, Austria, Sweden, Hungary, Serbia, and Poland. For the following Countries please select ‘+1’ on the TIME ZONE switch: Estonia, Finland, Romania, Belorussia, Turkey, and Ukraine. MANUALLY SETTING THE CLOCK: 1) Press MODE once the clock will say “TIME SET” 2) Press SET, the clock will say “HOUR SET”. 3) Use the ALM ON/OFF button to increase the hour and the SNZ ON/OFF button to decrease. To hear the hour you are currently on press the ‘TALKING’ button. 4) When the hours are correct press SET, the clock will say “MINUTE SET”. 5) Use the ALM ON/OFF button to increase the minutes and the SNZ ON/OFF button to decrease. To hear the minute you are currently on press the ‘TALKING’ button. 6) When the minutes are correct press SET, the clock will BEEP. You can now change between the 12 hour and 24 hour clock. Press the ALARM ON/OFF button or the SNZ ON/OFF button to change between 12 hour and 24 hour modes. 7) To exit the menu press the MODE/BAND button until you hear “TIME”. SETTING THE ALARM: Please ensure the correct time is set before setting the alarm. 1) Press MODE twice the clock will say “ALARM SET” 2) Press SET; the clock will say “HOUR SET”. 3) Use the ALM ON/OFF button to increase the hour and the SNZ ON/OFF button to decrease. To hear the hour you are currently on press the ‘TALKING’ button. 4) When the hours are correct press SET, the clock will say “MINUTE SET”. 5) Use the ALM ON/OFF button to increase the minutes and the SNZ ON/OFF button to decrease. To hear the minute you are currently on press the ‘TALKING’ button. 6) Press the MODE button to return to the current time display. 7) To turn the Alarm on and off use the ALM ON/OFF button. When the alarm is on a bell symbol will appear on the display. When the alarm sounds at the set time you will hear the alarm sound and the time will be announced, press any button to stop the alarm, otherwise the alarm sound will continue for one minute. If the alarm is stopped but not turned off it will sound again at the same time the following day. SNOOZE FUNCTION: This can only be used when the alarm has been set and you will need to turn the snooze function on prior to the alarm sounding. To do so use the SNZ ON/OFF button, the clock will announce if the function is on or off. When it is on "SNZ" will appear next to the alarm bell on the display. When the snooze function is on and the alarm sounds, as before press any button to stop it. The alarm will now sound again after 5 minutes. This procedure will repeat three times if the alarm is not cancelled or the snooze function is not turned off. COUNT DOWN TIMER: The Countdown timer can be set for between 10 and 90 minutes. This can be used just as a count down timer or as a nap timer, which allows the alarm to sound without resetting the daily alarm time. When in time display mode press the COUNT DOWN button, the clock will say ‘Count down timer’ and will set the count down timer to 10 minutes, to increase press the COUNT DOWN button again. Each press of the COUNT DOWN button will increase the count down time by 10 minutes up to a maximum of 90 minutes. If you wish to hear the current minutes when setting, press the TALKING button. Once you have your desired setting, the count down will begin in 10 seconds, after the display has flashed 5 times. If you wish to know how long is left press the TALKING button. Whilst in count down mode, you can hear the current time by pressing the MODE button followed by the TALKING button, but it is important to then press the COUNT DOWN button to enable the countdown to continue. When the count down function is on the words Count Down will be displayed. To turn the timer off before the preset time: press the COUNT DOWN button once and the MODE button once. To turn the count down timer off when the timer sounds: press any button. CHANGING THE BATTERIES: The battery compartment is located on the base of the clock. To open the compartment locate the raised lines in the centre of the base and push these towards the edge at the back of the clock. Inside are 4 x AAA Alkaline batteries.
