‘THE KAPTEN’ TALKING GPS WITH BUILT-IN MP3 PLAYER, FM RADIO & VOICE RECORDER MOBILITY PACK Your Kapten mobility pack includes: 1 x speaker 1 x coiled cable for speaker connection including the microphone / microphone button 1 x spare external battery 1 x battery connection and charger cable 2 x charger cable adaptors 1 x carry case The Speaker and connection to the Kapten: SPEAKER: The speaker can be used instead of the ear phones. You can emphasise the sound by twisting the top and bottom of the unit in opposite directions, which will open the speaker. To close the speaker push the two sections together and twist the top of the speaker clockwise. SPEAKER ON / OFF SWITCH: With the textured side of the speaker facing you, feel along the top edge. You will feel a metal circle which is the keychain for the speaker. To the left of this on the unit there is a slide switch, which has three positions; HIGH VOLUME, LOW VOLUME and OFF. To turn the speaker ON, slide the switch to the centre or far right position, to turn OFF slide it as far to the left as possible. When the unit is turned on there will be a dull red light illuminated on the back of the speaker unit. The speaker has an internal battery which will require charging, please see further on for details. COILED CABLE: Connects the speaker to the earphone socket on the Kapten. MICROPHONE AND MIC BUTTON: The microphone and microphone button are located on the oval section of the coiled cable. The microphone button is referenced within the full instructions. Spare external battery and connectors: Supplied with the Mobility pack is an external spare battery, which will be located in the carry case. Also included is the cable and USB adaptor for charging the external battery or the speaker and a separate adaptor for connecting to the Kapten. EXTERNAL BATTERY: The external battery is a rectangular unit with one button in the corner for turning on and off. Holding the unit with the button facing upwards and in the top right corner. Feeling along the top edge is the connection port. When the battery is turned on, four green lights will be illuminated along the left top edge. CONNECTION CABLE: This cable is used for connecting the external battery to the Kapten or charging the external battery or speaker. At one end you will feel a long round area, referred to as the multi socket. At the other end you will feel a small socket. Also supplied are two cable adaptors; CHARGER CABLE ADAPTOR A: This adaptor is used to connect the external battery to the Kapten. It has a small square socket at one end and a circular plug at the other. CHARGER CABLE ADAPTOR B: This adaptor is a USB connector and can be used to charge either the external battery or the speaker. It consists of a large flat socket (USB) at one end and a circular plug at the other. Plugging the external battery into the Kapten: Charger cable adaptor A - Connect the small socket of the connection cable into the connection port on the battery. Plug the circular plug into the multi socket at the end of the connection cable. Plug the small square socket into the charging socket on the top of the Kapten. Charging the external battery or speaker: Charger cable adaptor B - Plug the circular plug of adaptor B into the multi socket on the cable. Plug the small socket at the other end of the connection cable into the connection port on the battery or the connection socket on the speaker. Now connect the USB plug to your computer or USB mains adaptor (not supplied).
