W20 Mk3 Talking Watch Instructions Thank you for purchasing your new W20 watch. Please take a few minutes to read these instructions in order to familiarise yourself with its features. The watch has four buttons around the edge of the case. Initially press each briefly in turn - the one which does not speak is the bottom left. The top left button causes the date to be spoken and the top right obtains the time. Once you have finished changing any settings either of these top buttons will take you out of the setting mode. In the normal running mode the bottom right button will advise you whether the alarm has been set and, if so, the alarm time. In order to change any of the settings you use the bottom left button to select the item to be changed then the bottom right to effect the change. Pressing the bottom left button for three seconds puts the watch into its setting mode and each subsequent press steps to the next item which can be changed. once you reach the end of the list the watch will start again at the beginning - it does not come out of its setting mode. The only way to leave this mode and return to normal timekeeping is to press either of the top buttons. If you have not asked for the alarm to be disabled the items are as follows. (If you have asked us to disable the alarms then you will not be offered any of the options which refer to them):- LEFT RIGHT BUTTON BUTTON Alarm Audible Alarm On/Off Vibrating Alarm On/Off Hourly Report On/Off Set Alarm Hours Select Set Alarm Mins Select Volume 2 Levels Alarm Sounds 2 Sounds Set Year 2004 to 2060 Set Month January to December Set Date Day of Month Set Time Hours Select Set Time Mins Select 12 - 24 Hr Time 12 or 24 Back to the beginning of the list. When setting the time or alarm time the watch will speak in either a.m. / p.m. or 24 hour format depending on which has been selected. When you receive your watch the speech and hands will be synchronised. If you alter the spoken time as previously described you will find that, when you leave the time setting mode, the hands will automatically move to show the correct time. When the battery is replaced it will be necessary to re-synchronise the spoken time and the hands. This is done as follows:- 1. Hold the top left button down until you hear a tone (approx 15 seconds). Release the button then press it again to move the hands. A brief press will move the hands by a minute. Holding the button down will cause the hands to move more rapidly. Position the hands to match the spoken time. 2. Press any other button to lock the hands - a short tone will confirm this. 3. The hands and speech are now synchronised. You now just need to set the correct time using the speech as described on pages 2-5. The watch has 2 audible alarm sounds and a vibrating alarm. Only one alarm time can be set but you can have both audible and vibrating alarms together or just one or the other, i.e. You can select Audible or Vibrating Alarms on or off independently. This enables you to use a silent vibrating alarm if you do not wish people around you to be disturbed. The audible alarms sound for 1 minute but the vibrating alarm operates for 20 seconds to minimise battery drain. The vibrating unit uses a significant amount of power so we recommend that you do not use it more than necessary in order to maximise the battery life. If you press the top right button while the alarms sounding it will stop and start again after 10 minutes (Snooze function). If you press any other button it will stop and not start again. Your watch is splash resistant however we recommend that you take it off before putting your hands in water particularly if it is soapy or dirty. Apart from possible damage to the mechanism, the speaker may become clogged and, should this happen, the volume will be severely reduced. Your watch uses a CR2025 Lithium battery. If you return it to us when a replacement is required we will fit a new battery, re-set the time and return the watch to you for a charge of £5.00.
