TALKING/DIGITAL HAND EXERCISER This unit is designed to help strengthen grip and increase circulation. It speaks the number of grips and the grip force in either kilograms or pounds. Using the Hand Exerciser: Hold the unit in your right hand and feel for the LCD display at the top of the unit. Slightly below and to the right of the display are three buttons. The top one of these is the CLEAR button - pressing this resets all the numbers to zero. Under this is the MODE button - pressing this selects either Maximum Force or Total Force. The bottom button is the TALKING button which when pressed, will speak the total force. If held down it will also announce total count and present force i.e. the last force Each time the gripper is squeezed and released the device will speak. To select the functions which are to be spoken, go to the slide switch located on the lefthand side of the unit above the gripper. This is a 4-position switch. When the switch is fully up the unit will speak the number of grips, the second position speaks the total force and the third position speaks the present last force being exerted and the fully down position turns the sound off. Make sure the unit is set to zero before starting to exercise, by pressing the CLEAR button. One press clears the present force, holding it down clears everything. Resetting the Unit or Changing the Batteries: Hold the unit in your left hand with the LCD display underneath. At the top of the unit you will feel a smooth oval shape. Push this away from you and underneath you will find two AAA batteries. To replace these make sure the smooth negative end is located against the springs. To reset the unit or change from lbs and kilos there is a small recessed button to the bottom left side of the battery compartment. This can only be accessed with the battery compartment removed and needs to be pressed with a paper clip or ballpoint pen. Just below this button there is an even smaller hole. Gently pressing a paper clip in here will reset the device should it freeze or malfunction.
